Weymouth has a wide variety of restaurants. In recent years a number of new, exciting and modern establishments have opened to widen the choices of cuisine on offer. From harbour-side fish and chips to high quality stylish bistros and restaurants the choice is endless.
If you are coming to stay in the summer or at a weekend in the winter you are advised to book a table. Restaurants in Weymouth do get extremely busy in the height of the season and on Saturdays throughout the year.
Very near to the Chandlers on the seafront in Brunswick Terrace (5 minutes walk) is Hamilton’s Restaurant, Tel. 01305 789544 – a hidden gem and used extensively by local people.‘The restaurant offers a delightful gastronomic experience and has earned a strong reputation in the area’. Hamilton’s is great for an evening meal or lunch and especially nice to sit outside and have a coffee or tea and enjoy the sea view.
Café Oasis, Tel. 01305 833054 is almost on the beach in the other direction, a brisk walk along the Preston Beach Wall to Overcombe Corner will take you about 30 minutes, to then enjoy a snack, coffee, lunch or informal supper.
Enzo’s Tel. 01305 778666 is an cosmopolitan Italian restaurant halfway along the seafront, (10 minutes walk) – a very popular modern place with the added benefit of opening on Sundays.
The nearest restaurant to the Chandlers is Wester’s Bistro, Tel. 01305 784904 which is conveniently next-door, on the corner of Westerhall Road.
Around the harbour area there are numerous restaurants and bistros as well as pubs and fish and chip shops. Fish ‘n Fritz Tel. 01305 766386 is an award winning Fish and chip restaurant and take-away as is the Marlborough Fish Restaurant by the town bridge.
On the town bridge is the ever popular Italian chain Prezzo’s, where you can be sure of getting value for money.
Perry’s Restaurant, Tel. 01305 785799, & Mallams Restaurant, Tel. 01305 776757 are next door to each other on the far side of the harbour and both have very good reputations for more intimate meal. This is just a small selection of the wide variety of places to eat out in Weymouth.
A pub, about a 10 minute drive out, with good food can be found at Osmington Mills - The Smugglers.
