Weymouth bay and Portland Harbour are wiedely recognised as the finest sailing waters in the UK for small boats, hence it is home to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Kite Surfing is growing in popularity at the Town Beach end.

For Landlubbers there is always beach volleyball, and many excellent routes for walking / jogging and mountain biking in the adjoining coastline and countryside.

Weymouth is surrounded by local golf courses including the Weymouth Golf Club, Came Down Golf Club and The Wareham Golf Club .

Fishermen can find luck in both the sea, and inland in some of dorsets lakes & rivers.
