Weymouth has a wide variety of restaurants. In recent years a number of new, exciting and modern establishments have opened to widen the choices of cuisine on offer. From harbour-side fish and chips to high quality stylish bistros the choice is endless.
If you are coming to stay in the summer or at a weekend in the winter you are advised to book a table. Restaurants in Weymouth do get extremely busy in the height of the season and on Saturdays throughout the year.
The nearest restaurant to the Chandlers Hotel is Wester’s Bistro, which is conveniently next-door, on the corner of Westerhall Road. ‘Famous for good food and a unique relaxed informal atmosphere’
Around the corner and on the seafront in Brunswick Terrace is Hamilton’s Restaurant,
‘The restaurant offers a delightful gastronomic experience and has earned a strong reputation in the area’. Hamilton’s is great for an evening meal or lunch and especially nice to sit outside and have a coffee or tea and watch the world go by.
Café Oasis is almost on the beach in the other direction, a brisk walk along the Preston Beach Wall to Overcombe Corner will take you about 20 minutes, to then enjoy a snack, coffee, lunch or informal supper.
Enzo’s is a new Italian restaurant halfway along the seafront, opposite the Jubilee clock – a very popular modern place with the added benefit of opening on Sundays.
At the beginning of the shopping centre is the Statue House Tapa’s Bar and nearby in St Mary’s Street the ever popular Bella Italia.
Around the harbour area there are numerous restaurants and bistros as well as pubs and fish and chip shops. Fish ‘n Fritz is an award winning Fish and chip restaurant and take-away as is the Marlborough Fish Restaurant. Floods Bistro specialises in local fish and Perry’s and Mallams are two very stylish restaurants on the far side of the harbour. The Isobar is a new concept in dining for Weymouth two very contemporary bars and dining areas with fantastic views over the harbour. Another popular new restaurant is the Crow’s Nest in Brewers Quay open for lunch or dinner and you can eat outside at tables adorned with chequered cloths.
